Jennifer Rardin and Lizzie T leaf Chat at Realms of Love

Jennifer Rardin chats with Lizzie T Leaf and YOU in the Realms of Love Chat Castle this week. Join us Monday, August 11 as we discover the latest in Jennifer’s Jaz Parks series.

Jaz Parks and her vampire boss, Vayl, have already fought demons, vampires, and reavers. Now, juggling work and family takes on a new dimension as she tackles her latest challenge: nail the Raptor before he can reduce her to Jaz-bits, survive a head-on crash with Vayl’s violent past, and lever her twin’s military career back on track before a dishonorable discharge ruins his life. To top it off, she must also contend with her father’s issues. Is he losing his mind? Or is someone really trying to kill him - from beyond the grave?

Jennifer says about Jennifer: I’ve spent all my life in the Midwest, which has certainly shaped my perspective on all kinds of issues, from the question of whether or not we really have an accent, to the many and varied uses of corn.

I was born in Evansville, Indiana on April 28, 1965. Mom tells me almost every year what crappy weather it was that day. However I like to think of my birthday as the first frost-free date for my planting area. See what happens when you grow up around farmers? Scary, huh?

After a youth spent up to my eyeballs in fairy tales, nordic myths and supernatural legends I made the solid and practical decision to go to college and major in English. After which I never really held a well paying job until this gig came along! Which is why my kids love to sing that song to me from the musical “Avenue Q.” The one that begins with the line, “What do you do with a B.A. in English?”

Once I figured out the answer to that question, I wrote Once Bitten, Twice Shy. Now my laptop is my constant companion. We reside in an old farmhouse along with my husband and our two teenagers. No pets since the cat died last winter, but the birds seem to appreciate his absence. They come to feast at the feeders while I write on the back porch in the cool of the morning. Lovely.

Lizzie T Leaf and you chat with Jennifer Rardin Monday in the Realms of Love Chat Castle Monday at 9 PM EDT.

Romance Writers Leaf and Mayhue Chat Monday

Melissa Mayhue and Lizzie T Leaf chat with you Monday June 9 at 9 PM EDT in the Realms of Love Chat Castle. There will be give-aways, silly jokes and a good time had by all.

Melissa Mayhue is the author of the Daughters of the Glen Series. The third installment, Soul of a Highlander released June 8 by Pocket Books. Lizzie T Leaf is the prolific author of "Humor with Heat." Aspen Mountain Press has released DEAD Faint and will re-release Call Me soon. Let’s have fun chatting with these fine romance writers.

Soul of a Highlander  Nine years ago, Faerie Magic saved MAIRI MacKIERNAN at the cost of her dreams of happiness, snatching her from her life in 1272 and depositing her in the twenty-first century.  Now she must save the last Daughter of the MacKiernan family…who was murdered in 1295.  Transported back in time at her request, Mairi finds herself captured by the same evil men as before!  Is this the price the Faerie Magic requires of her this time?

RAMOS SERVANS has dedicated his dreams to service as a Guardian, but when he discovers the evil unleashed on the Mortal Plain by his father and their people, he swears he will atone by ridding the world of Nuadian deceit.  Part of his mission involves rescuing a lovely Highland lassie, and in the passion that grows between them, Ramos and Mairi find a new dream.

But falling in love can be dangerous when Faerie Magic is involved.  Dreams may not be the only cost….

DEAD Faint  Billie Joyce’s life-time dream of visiting New York City comes true, but the life changing experience is totally different than what she anticipated.

The blonde angel who saved her from death is one of the living dead and now, so is Billie Joyce.  Problem is, she faints at the sight of blood.  To make things more frustrating, she has to contend with a man who can find nothing right with her.  Of course, he would have to be the one who creates more sensations in her body than she ever had when she was alive.

Marcus fights his attraction to the lavender eyed beauty who talks like she stepped out of My Fair Lady.  After all, he’s no Henry Higgins, plus he got over the sex thing centuries ago.  Besides, as the new King of the Vampires, who has time for women?

Chat with Pam Champagne and Kara Griffin Monday

Kara Griffin hosts EPPIE AWARD WINNER Pam Champagne in this week’s Romance Writer chat at Realms of Love. Be here Monday March 10 at 9 PM EDT as these romance writers tell us about their books and how cold it is on the East Coast of the US. There will be give-aways so be sure to log in to the chat early. Here’s a little bit about Kara and Pam:

Pam Champagne lives in on 50 rural acres in rural Maine with her husband, two Siamese cats and a black Lab. By day she works in Bangor, Maine as a legal secretary.

Other than writing, Pam enjoys hunting, fishing or just being outdoors. Each year she promises to maintain her perennials and a huge vegetable garden, but somehow they always manage to get away from her. God blessed her with two beautiful children and two wonderful granddaughters. Pam writes, hot romantic suspense novels and is currently branching into short stories and novellas.

Dead Heat: As Jenna Green struggles to make a name for herself on the racetrack after her father’s untimely death, Rye Cameron’s offer of a job to train his horses comes out of the blue. Aware of his reputation with women, she accepts, despite her doubts. Soon she discovers the real reason Rye hired her and finds herself fighting for her life.

Kara Griffin says: Living the quiet life here in New Jersey. I can often be found home, working on my computer. Maybe I’m a recluse. Sometimes I attend daughter’s soccer games (when it’s not too cold). I really need to move to a warmer place…

I share my living space with my husband of 18 years, and 3 teen daughters. Usually one of our three cats (Trixie, Chillie, or Flav-or-Flav) can be found snuggled on my desk or on my lounge when I’m working. I write any chance I get, and am always on the computer or chatting on many of the groups I frequent.

I grew up in Philadelphia and was used to the busy sounds of the city, the cement sidewalks, and high sky-scrapers. Now, I enjoy the peaceful scenic views and green of the suburbs. My favorite season is summer, because I can write outside and enjoy nature. I really do need to move some place warmer!

Some things you might be surprised to know about me… Some call me a spitfire, lol, maybe because I’m all of 5 feet tall, but have enough gumption to speak my mind. I recently took my second plane ride, and one day WILL visit my favorite place: Scotland. I love cats, like dogs, love drinking tea, especially when it’s cold. I really do need to exist in a warmer place!! I forget to eat when I’m writing, but like to snack. I’m about the only woman in the world who doesn’t love chocolate. I’m an advocate for children’s rights, and love working with kids.

I’ve always enjoyed hearing stories about myths and magic. It’s no wonder I put some of that in my stories. There’s nothing like reading about witches, ghosts, vamps, wares, or shifters. Of course, there has to be romance in it, because I’m a romantic at heart.

I love writing heroes that make you wish you were the heroine, and about heroines who inspire courage, dignity, and inner-beauty. Find out more by reading my books. I love to hear from readers, so email me or speak up if you spot me on the

Fishing Lures and Love Tackle: Keely Crystal , Kuku-lau the Goddess of Deception, has always known who her love will be. Their destiny has been foretold by the Goddess of Earth herself. But when Keely sets out to meet her intended before their destined time, she unintentionally deceives him.

Martin Stokes is tired of dealing with deceiving women. He intends to change the way he deals with them. But when he meets the enchanting, sexy, woodland nymph, while fishing, he has second thoughts. The connection he feels for Keely uncovers a love deeper than he’s ever experienced.

Is his fate as the Goddess’s protector sealed, even though she deceived him? Martin must forgive her before the Goddess of the Earth sends another protector in his place. He just can’t let that happen.

ManLove Writers in Ancient Rome

Ancient Rome is the theme for this month’s ManLove chat at Realms of Love. Join James Buchanan, Jardonn Smith and William Maltese as they chat with you about their work, their obsessions and the burgeoning ManLove community.

There will be give-aways, good conversation and fun! Give yourself a relaxing hour with these intelligent, engaging authors and the friendly folks at Realms of Love. Sign in to the chat at 9 PM EST Monday March 3.

Jardonn Smith is the author of five books and instigator of the web site www.jardonnserotictales.com , where men are worshiped by women, men, and women and men together. It’s also home to Uncle Jasper McCutcheon and his audio erotica adaptations of his books and Jardonn’s books, plus his rather popular Five-fingered Bedtime Stories and Swinging with Marrieds.

Jardonn sees his men as heroic creatures who must be chained to their altars for proper praise. Defiant, strong and virile, they must suffer through interrogations and punishments before the men who love them can save them. His latest book, The Tortured Secutor, is no exception.

Set in 3rd Century AD Rome, the tale is of a gladiator, Philo, granted his freedom by Emperor Aurelian, only to be caught up in a web of treachery surrounding the murdered wife of an evil patrician. Philo’s abducted, taken to a dungeon of torture, while the man who loves him, a physician at the Ludus Magnus where slaves are trained to be gladiators, devises a plan to rescue our hero. You can listen to a Jasper audio rendition of Philo’s brutal introduction to the Ludus Magnus here http://www.jardonnserotictales.com/jaspstrStoryTime9.mp3

Jardonn will talk about this and all of his books, and he’ll be giving away a signed copy of The Tortured Secutor. If asked, he’ll also talk of Uncle Jasper and his three books of hetero mayhem. Same concept, but with women doling out the punishments and the lovemaking. Jasper is proud to be one of six finalists for the prestigious Diagram Award from TheBookSeller.com, an annual note to books with the most unusual titles, in Jasper’s case, I Was Tortured By the Pygmy Love Queen. He might be coerced into giving away a copy of this book, too.

James Buchanan, is a multipublished author of, primarily, homoerotic romance & fiction. Life wise, James grew up in a small Texas town, hours away from any other small Texas town and about as far west as you could go and still be considered in Texas. A stint at the University, where James ostensibly majored in English, garnered him a degree useful for being someone’s secretary. The absolute lack of employment opportunities sent James to Southern California. After a stint in County Mental Health (administration not client) he ran screaming into the field of Law. So far he has been practicing for nine years and someday I might even get it right.

Currently James volunteers as the Obelisk Awards Coordinator, List Dom and MySpace WebMaster for the Erotic Authors Association. He also edits the newsletter for the ManLoveRomance Author Co-op. His novella Twice the Cowboy won both the Preditors & Editors Best Romance Novella of 2006 but also the Golden Rose 2007 award for Best Novella.

In a bold stroke of either genius or idiocy, James recently purchased a Harley and is trying not to kill himself on it.

Cheating Chance Book One of Taking the Odds by James Buchanan
Nick O’Mallley is an agent for the Nevada Gaming Commission. He’s also a Goth with a hearse he’s restoring, and an ex lover he’s only just getting over. Brandon Carr is a cop with the Riverside PD. Lucky for him, he’s in Vice where his tattoos and biker boy looks serve him well. The two meet at a Goth convention in San Diego and the sparks fly immediately. So much so that a weekend fling turns into more and Brandon spends his four day weekend visiting Nick.

Things aren’t all sparks and roses though: the two do live a four hour drive apart, and Brandon’s not out. Add to that a murder right in front of them, a company trying to cheat the system and the Mexican Mafia, and Brandon and Nick’s relationship will need to overcome a whole slew of obstacles in order to work.

Despite everything, can Brandon and Nick make a go of it? Taken a chance on these two and find out.
A Little Trust, a short story featuring Nick and Brandon from Cheating Chance, will be released March 15, 2008, as part of the Ropes Toy Box from Torquere Press. Book two of the Taking the Odds series, Inland Empire is now running as a Turn of the Screw Novel.

William Maltese was born in the United States Pacific Northwest. He has a BA in Marketing/Advertising and spent an honorable tour of duty in the United States Army (achieving the rank of E-5).

The author, who started his career writing for men pulp magazines, has since written over 200 books, non-fiction and fiction, the latter including every genre.

His success in erotica and mainstream publishing, including translations of his work into over a dozen foreign languages, earns him his long-standing listing in WHO’S WHO IN AMERICA.

Released February 1, 2008:
Carthage 146 B.C. from SUCKS! BOOK #1 OF THE DRAQUAL VAMPYRE CHRONICLES by William Maltese

HIS MUSCLED BODY glistens with perspiration that drools his torso. He squeegees wet from his hairy chest and belly, using the flats of his hands. The leading edges of his little fingers collide with his dick that has spewed enough cream to swamp a Carthaginian war ship. He returns his hands to his nipples and leaves them resting there.
“I need a drink.” Romilius gets to his feet and favors one badly bruised-on-the-marble-floor knee. He crosses the few feet to a sandalwood stand and its ewer of Athenian hand-crafted silver from Laurium. The silver is embossed with a scene of the Minotaur, with very large cock, who looks as if he wants to do more to Theseus than kill him. The fine wine is poured into a silver chalice with Cretian bull-leaping motif, made by Mago the Carthaginian. Romilius’s taste buds miss the finer nuances of the vintage as he swallows.
He walks to the balcony. The eruptions of more flames in the city below indicate the speed of the hastily encroaching Roman enemy from harbor into the city proper, soon to raid and incinerate this very house. The still-distant sounds of battle — triumphant bellows of conquerors and the agonizing cries of vanquished — carry all-too-clearly on an incoming breeze.
“Vlad isn’t going to make it back on time, is he?” Romilius says more to himself than to the vampire on the floor behind him.
“Of course, he is,” Alenius counters; if Vlad were coming back, with an escape plan to rescue Romilius from the city, he would likely have showed before now. “He’s always true to his word.”
“There’s always an exception to everything, isn’t there?” Romilius says. He takes another swallow of the wine he’s poured. “This is such a time. There’s no way Vlad gets back in this city …”
A decided exaggeration, as Romilius and Alenius both know; Vlad’s return only necessitates the brief moment to metamorphose leathery wings, and a fly-in, especially on the obliging updrafts caused by a city more and more in flames.
Less exaggeration, of course, is Vlad returned and Romilius still not rescued. Vampire wings aren’t constructed for transporting other than their owners, no matter how artists fancifully portray them eagle-like lifting heavy prey.
“I want you to suck me dry,” Alenius says. He turns from the balcony and from the portrait of destruction painted on the city landscape. “I mean, suck the blood from my veins.”
“You and I know that’s not going to happen,” Alenius says. He gets to his feet, not bothering to dress. Wings don’t easily sprout beneath clothing, and he’s prepared, very soon, to fly out as chances become more and more slim that Vlad will fly in or arrive any other way that provides rescue for Romilius. “I’ve promised Vlad that any complete draining of your blood, if and when, will be his doing. I’m a vampire of my word.”
“What was I saying about exceptions to the rule?” Romilius says; Alenius joins him on the parapet. The young man’s nakedness, chalice in hand, is silhouetted against a backdrop more and more flame-lit. “Would Vlad prefer me permanently dead or capable of resurrection — whether the latter sees me returned as your minion or his?”
“He was very emphatic when he warned me — as my friend, and my lover — against my doing the deed,” Alenius reminds. “I emphasize ‘very’. He and his family have plans for you that, as far as I can determine, don’t include recruiting you into our life-style — which I’m not sure you would enjoy, anyway. There are so many things that can be done by those who can abide sunshine that can’t be so easily accomplished by us permanently relegated to the shadows. Were I to deprive Vlad of what he and his may expect from you and from yours in the daylight, he wouldn’t likely be pleased.”
“If I die, here, at the hand of some Roman soldier, of what benefit am I to Vlad, to Vlad’s family, to you, or to anyone? Better, yes, that I survive to see at least another night?”

Gay classic from 1973:
GAIUS MAXIMUS by William Maltese (writing as William Lambert, III)

[The author will be providing several additional short excerpts from this classic collector’s novel of the Roman Empire while chatting on Realms of Love on 3 March 2008].

GAIUS MAXIMUS, commander of the Roman forces in Britain, was anxious to have the boy Gerwyn brought to his tent. But Drak Thormu, the Druidic religious leader, had requested an audience to warn him that the boy had been consecrated to the gods.
“They were here in this place long before your Greek or Roman gods were spawned in other places.” Drak said. They have claimed the boy for their own. Had your men not interrupted the ceremony at Braknoida, it would even now be completed.”
“The boy is a captive of war,” Gaius said, showing his anger. He is one of the spoils I have claimed. He is now my property: one more slave to be used as I see fit. If I see fit to pull him naked into my bed then that is how it shall be…”

Chat with Aline de Chevigny, Maura Anderson, Melissa Glisan, and Michelle Hasker

The January 28th Chat at Realms of Love features Aline de Chevigny, Maura Anderson, Melissa Glisan, and Michelle Hasker from Aspen Mountain Press. These smart and witty ladies have some very hot releases at AMP and there will be give-aways of ebook downloads during the chat. You have to be in it to win it so join us for the fun Monday at 9 PM EST. Please email thunder with any questions, he’s happy to help.

Maura Anderson: Texas Tea

Photographer Lara Saunders has a lifelong secret — she can see and hear ghosts. When she was rescued from a near drowning by the ghost of a lighthouse keeper, he set her on a mission to document historic lighthouses and the lives of their keepers so they were not forgotten. Now on her third book in the series, Lara has arrived in San Diego to document the Old Point Loma Lighthouse but hasn’t counted on becoming the target of Cody Warren, the matchmaking owner of the Del Fantasma bar. Or falling in love with a handsome Park Ranger whose secret is even more strange than her own.

About Maura: As the oldest child in a family of hugely prolific readers, I was hooked early on the wonders of worlds unknown and information at my fingertips. When I discovered Johanna Lyndsey in my teen years, I was hooked on romances.
I live in a wonderful rural community outside of Seattle, Washington with my amazing husband, Chuck, and our son Morgan. I also have an adult son, Jonathan, who is in college and not living at home (but is thankfully close enough to visit). We share our home with 7 indoor cats and an African Grey parrot as well as our backyard with a feral cat colony that we care for.

Adding to my rather diverse background, I am also a Wiccan High Priestess, an elder in my spiritual community (Mohsian Trad, for those who are curious).
Even with all the draws on my time, I still manage to read about a book every day to two days. I believe reading is my lifelong addiction!

Aline de Chevigny Blood Red

Mikael De Wohlf has lived the better part of his life as a ruthless, vicious vampire.  Only one person, Annabella Micelli, has managed to sooth his vampire ire to warm what is left of his soul. But Annabella despises the way Mikael lives, the way he metes out justice, the way he has brought about the downfall of his enemies. How can he turn her disgust into lust and then maybe into love?

About Aline: I live in Ontario, Canada and I am a Chemical Engineering Technologist by trade. I’ve only been writing a short time, but I’ve had stories floating around in my head since I was kid. When I embarked upon my scientific career, I started writing those stories down on paper, hadn’t dreamed they’d be published. My family is extremely supportive of my goal and encourage me to sub my work. They enjoy bragging to their friends and coworkers that they have an author in the family.
So as long as people enjoy my tales, I will continue to write them.

Melissa Glisan Ware Wishes

At Satin Knights, nothing is what it seems – including the talent. Songs simmer and clothes are stripped away - as are the club’s secrets. But the roots of deception go deeper and tangle in the lives of Jennifer Taylor and Rayn DeSantis in unexpected ways. Before they can make sense of the situation, an old promise comes due…one that could kill…

About Melissa: I’ve always wanted to write, so I became an engineer. Seriously. My career path has led a merry chase through cook, trail-guide, gym instructor, and security. A true Jill of All Trades! Then I signed on as a news reporter. Now, I no longer report the news - I make it!

At the bottom of the page are my horses: Magic, April and Jack. That’s what I am doing when I’m not writing.

Michelle Hasker Weekend Menage

Dane and Neil get to offer one lucky romance writer the weekend of her wildest fantasy.  Stacey can’t believe her husband is offering her this experience with one of their close friends.  Will they be able to maintain their former relationship once the weekend is over?

About Michelle: Michelle Hasker has been writing for four years. While there are ups and downs, she is much happier writing than not. On a normal day you can find her glued to the laptop in between pretending to clean and taking care of her four children and assorted pets.

Michelle is a member of Romance Writers of America and the Fantasy, Futuristic and Paranormal chapter of RWA. She is also a member of The Daughters of Circe, Authors of Erotic Romance, and the Pink Chair Diaries.

Michelle loves vampires and things that go bump in the night, so it’s no wonder her creations are truly paranormal. While most people only dream of finding love, Michelle’s characters find it, but in the most unexpected places.

Next Week Laura Baumbach and Jay Lygon

Laura Baumbach is the author of fan fiction, screenplays and numerous short stories, novellas, and novels. Her favorite genre to work in is manlove or m/m erotic romances. Manlove is not traditional gay fiction, but erotic romances written specifically for the romantic-minded reader, male or female. Melissa Glisan says: I’ve always wanted to write, so I became an engineer. Seriously. My career path has led a merry chase through cook, trail-guide, instructor and security. A true Jill of All Trades! Then I signed on as a news reporter. Now, I no longer report the news - I make it! My work has appeared in Insidious Reflections, Dark Gothic and Twisted Dreams as well as Aspen Mountain Press, Red Rose Publishing, Twilight Fantasies and JustusRoux.

Night Lights is her latest with AMP. Here’s the blurb:

Margaret Thawley’s watery nightmares hold the keys to unlocking her past and her future. On the Philippine Island of Cagayan, she places her trust in the enigmatic warrior Rizal Malihim and his night lights, to keep her safe despite the tales. For in Cagayan, the natives warn, fireflies mask the dreaded berbalangs - ghoulish vampires swarming for victims to kill.

Rob Graham has a new web site where he describes himself:  This is me.
The simplest word to describe me is heretic.
heretic
noun
• a person holding an opinion at odds with what is generally accepted.
I do things my own way at my own time. If you tell me something is true, I’ll examine it and come to my own conclusion.

Rob would like us to visit Gillian’s Place. Coming soon to AMP:  Come on in and have a drink. Gillian’s place is the right place to be to hear some interesting stories of love gone wrong and right.
